Container freight rates have fallen further from their summer peaks, forcing lines to cancel sailings ahead of the Golden Week holidays in Asia.
The rates dropped 8% to $4,775 per 40-foot equivalent unit (feu) in the week ending 5 September, according to the Drewry World Container Index (WCI).
