Container spot rates from Asia to the US east coast have plummeted after shippers frontloaded cargoes to beat a pending strike and potential tariffs.
Spot rates from Shanghai to New York plunged 21% to $6,661 per 40-foot equivalent unit (feu) in the week to 12 September.
