Some shipowners will be left with little choice as to how to meet the IMO’s global sulphur cap on marine fuels, according to one major chemical tanker owner.
“The reality is that some ships won’t be able to fit scrubbers,” Kenny Rogers, head of Aurora Tankers Management told delegates at the TradeWinds Shipowners Forum in Singapore.
“There are several technical issues, while some ships just do not have the room to fit scrubbers.”
