Knife-wielding thieves targeted more ships in the Singapore Strait over the weekend, with a New Vision Shipping bulker and a Shipping Corp of India tanker coming under attack in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Singapore-based Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) cautioned that all vessels transiting the Singapore Strait exercise the utmost vigilance, adopt extra precautionary measures and report all incidents immediately to the nearest coastal authority.
