A multipurpose vessel has been abandoned in the southern Red Sea after the engine room flooded.
The 8,000-dwt Isa Star (built 2000) was en route to the Indonesian port of Batam from Italy when the crew were forced to send a distress signal on Thursday, according to Operation Aspides, the European Union naval mission in the region.
