Plastic nurdles may have spilled from damaged containers on a stricken ship involved in last week’s North Sea collision and started to wash up on English beaches, owner Ernst Russ said on Tuesday.
No containers holding the nurdles went over the side following the collision but may have fallen from holes that appeared in the fierce fire after the 804-teu feedermax Solong (built 2005) struck a Stena Bulk product tanker.
