With piracy on the rise in the Gulf of Guinea region, Nigerian authorities are preparing the launch of their $195m maritime security initiative.
The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and Nigerian Navy are close to unleashing the Deep Blue Project, a joint effort to secure the country's territorial waters and its exclusive economic zone, according to the Lagos-based Vanguard newspaper.
