A a missile exploded in the water close to the stern of a bulker underway in the Bab el-Mandeb strait off Yemen, maritime security sources said on Sunday.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) classified the incident as an attack on the vessel, which it did not identify.
According to the security officer of the ship’s management company, a missile splashed “in close proximity to the vessel”, UKMTO said.
