A fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon on a Hoegh Autoliners car carrier off Jacksonville, Florida, is still burning but has been under control since Friday.
The fire erupted aboard the 4,900-ceu Hoegh Xiamen (built 2012) after an explosion occurred on the ship's seventh deck.
"The fire has not yet been extinguished, but firefighters are making excellent progress," Hoegh Autoliners spokesman Dustin Eno told TradeWinds on Tuesday.
