Greek domestic cargo operator Creta Cargo Lines’ 4,200-gt ro-ro vessel Nearchos has run aground atop an active volcanic mound off the island of Santorini.
The incident took place on Saturday morning.
Local media stated that the ship’s ice-strengthened hull suffered a small, controlled inflow of water at its bow.
There have been no reports of any pollution.
The Nearchos was reportedly carrying 13 crew, five passengers and five trucks.
