A Diamond S Shipping product tanker has been targeted by robbers of the west coast of India, TradeWinds has learnt.
The 36,725-dwt Arionas (built 2006) was boarded by seven unarmed perpetrators while at anchor in the outer anchorage off Kandla’s Deendayal Port.
The ship’s master is said to have raised the alarm, mustered the crew and reported the incident to the ship’s agent, the marine police, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the Kandla port authority.
