Denmark will deploy a warship to the Gulf of Guinea to fight the spike in piracy off West Africa.
The government is “seriously concerned” about the security situation in the gulf, where around 40% of all pirate attacks reported worldwide occur.
The naval vessel will be deployed for five months from about November this year to March 2022 in a region in which 140 seafarers were kidnapped in 2020.
