The fire from an explosion on a containership that rocked the city of Dubai has been extinguished and the ship is in the process of cooling down.
The director general of Dubai civil defence, Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, said the port fire is under control and “the cooling process is underway”.
AIS data indicates that the explosion erupted on the 210-teu Ocean Trader (built 1993), operated by Dubai-based Inzu Ship Charter, which has not yet responded to requests for comment.
