A Lebanese-owned cargoship reportedly sank on Wednesday 95 nautical miles (175 km) off Libya while trying to avoid rough seas.
The 11 crew of the 2,753-dwt Palau-flagged UK Diversity (built 1975) were rescued by passing ships, according to Ambrey Intelligence.
They were picked up by the 1,730-teu containership Charlie (built 2002) and the 107,507-dwt tanker Zarifa Aliyeva (built 2010).
The sunken ship's last AIS transmission was received at 8:52 am local time (0652 GMT).
