The key to making methanol a useable fuel is sourcing it renewably and accounting for its entire life cycle.
But while the accounting methods for emissions are still being worked out, Methanol Institute chief operating officer Chris Chatterton said he expects the well-to-wake accounting method to ultimately win out.
“All other major transportation sectors have already gone that way,” Chatterton told TradeWinds.
