Eyal Ofer‘s Zodiac Maritime has tied one of its capesize bulkers into a time charter with Rio Tinto.
Brokers say the 175,000-dwt Cape Stork (built 2011) has been fixed for 11 to 13 months at $16,000 per day.
The rate is above the $13,288 per day available in the spot market on Friday in what has been a tricky week for dry cargo rates ahead of the Chinese New Year holidays.
