Singapore-listed Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has bagged up to 12 newbuildings worth about $353m.
Industry players familiar with Yangzijiang said two shipping companies have contracted the Jiangsu-based shipbuilder to construct bulkers and multipurpose (MPP) vessels.
A domestic company known as Shanghai Ganglu Shipping has contracted Yangzijiang to build a pair of 56,000-dwt supramax bulkers for delivery in 2022.
