Singapore-listed Yangzijiang Shipbuilding is said to have sealed an order for two firm self-unloading bulk carrier newbuildings for a “pricey” $65m each in a deal potentially worth $260m.
Shipbuilding sources said the Jiangsu-based shipyard inked a contract for up to four 80,000-dwt vessels to be delivered in 2025 with Canadian bulker and tanker owner Algoma Central Corp.
Yangzijiang officials declined to comment, citing contract confidentiality.
