Greek owner Ion Varouxakis is understood to be behind the purchase of a 16-year-old supramax bulker.
Bangladeshi shipowner Meghna Group shed the 52,600-dwt Precious Wind (built 2001) in the middle of June. TradeWinds understands that the vessel has gone to interests associated with Varouxakis for about $6.2m — $400,000 below the price initially reported and more in line with current market levels.
