Brazilian mining giant Vale has sold a veteran bulker for scrap in a deal that shows a fall in recycling prices.
Brokers said the owner achieved $372 per lwt or $8.15m for the 179,000-dwt ore carrier Ore Bayovar (built 1998).
TradeWinds had reported the ship was up for sale earlier this month, with offers due by 21 October.
