Uglands Rederi of Grimstad, Norway continues to boost its bulker fleet and has ordered two 60,000-dwt units for delivery in 2019 and 2010.
The first ship is due for delivery at Tsuneishi Cebu in the Philippines and the second for delivery at Sanoyas Shipbuilding. Brokers suggest that the ships are costing some $24m each.
Managing director Oystein Beisland of Uglands Rederi tells the Norwegian daily Finansavisen that the deals were concluded some time ago:
“We feel the deals are concluded on attractive terms and that the timing is good”, he says.
