Norway's JJ Ugland group has concluded the quick disposal of its oldest bulker, but is in no hurry to phase out similar tonnage.
Managing director Oystein Beisland confirmed that his company signed a memorandum of agreement with an undisclosed buyer to sell the Tsuneishi Shipbuilding-constructed, 52,300-dwt Tamarita (built 2001).
European brokers said the supramax has fetched $8.5m.
