Dubai-based shipowner Tristar Eships denies that it has sold its only supramax bulker.
“The Tristar Prosperity has not been sold,” chief executive Tim Coffin told TradeWinds when asked to comment on reports by brokers this week that the 56,800-dwt, 2012-built ship had been sold to undisclosed interests for $15m.
A sale would leave Tristar with a single owned bulk carrier, the 79,000-dwt panamax Tristar Dugon (built 2011), although it is active in the chartering segment.
