Dry bulk company Torvald Klaveness of Norway has no plans to wind up its Bulkhandling pool despite scaling down as an operator of supramax bulkers.
This pool has some 50 handymax and supramaxes.
Klaveness this week announced that it would concentrate on the larger segments, through spin-off Klaveness Combination Carriers (KCC) and the larger Baumarine pool.
Klaveness CEO Lasse Kristoffersen confirmed the move to scale down as an operator in the supramax segment has led to “some redundancies at the offices in Oslo, Singapore and Manila”.
