Star Bulk Carriers has picked up three scrubber-fitted capesize bulkers from German KG (limited partnership) company ER Capital, after waiting over two years to exercise options on the vessels.
The bulker giant has acquired the 180,000-dwt ER Bayonne, ER Borneo and ER Buenos Aires, all of which were built in 2010 at South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries.
Star Bulk will pay for the trio using $39m in cash plus 2.1m
