Small impact on US Gulf Coast breakbulk trade expected during port strikes

Breakbulk cargo flows from key hubs in the US Gulf Coast could also be affected by strikes by port workers, but to a much less dramatic extent than for containers.

Members of the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) on Tuesday launched a strike that will temporarily shutter 10 of the US’s 25 largest ports, including major facilities on the East and Gulf coasts.
