Rumours linking Scorpio Bulkers with the sale of a kamsarmax bulker newbuilding are wide of the mark.
Chatter among shipbrokers suggested the New York-listed company had sold the 81,000-dwt SBI Thurloe (built 2017) at a price of $27m.
The bulker, which Scorpio bought as a resale, will soon be launched by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
However, informed sources tell TradeWinds that the vessel has not been sold and the owner is currently not looking to reduce its fleet.
