Safe Bulkers has grown its capesize fleet with the purchase of a distressed vessel at auction.
New York-listed Safe has picked up a 181,000-dwt bulker built in Japan in 2009, it told investors.
Safe says the ship has been acquired at an attractive price at a time capesize rates are rising.
