Futures contracts for capesize bulk carriers were up again on Tuesday, following another bullish round of freight rate assessments and reported fixtures in the physical market.
Assessments by Baltic Exchange panellists put weighted time-charter average earnings (5TC) for capes $1,308 higher than Monday at $26,672 per day.
This is around $10,000 below prompt 5TC paper contracts for capes, which closed on Tuesday at $16,294 per day, having risen by $581 since the previous day.
