Nova Marine Carriers is looking at flipping some of the vessels in its order for up to 18 mini-bulkers.
Delivery of the first of six firm units will take place later this year, but the shipowner is weighing up its options for the remaining dozen, chief executive Vincenzo Romeo said.
The Lugano-based bulker operator inked an estimated $150m deal with Zhejiang Xinle Shipbuilding of China in June 2018.
