Poompuhar Shipping of India has scrapped what appears to be its only trading bulk carrier.
The 45,000-dwt Tamil Anna (built 1985) has been sold for $363 per ldt, or $3.7m, shipbrokers report.
Poompuhar confirmed the disposal of the Hitachi Zosen-built ship in an update on its website.
According to Clarksons, the shipowner is left with a single vessel, a passengership built in the 1990s.
