Greek shipowner Pavimar is expanding its fleet after buying a 12-year-old, Japanese-controlled kamsarmax.

European brokers said the 83,000-dwt Orange Truth (built 2006), which was constructed at Tsuneishi Shipbuilding in Japan, has been sold for $13.8m.

The price is slightly lower than expected given reports of the recent sale of a conventional panamax, the 76,000-dwt Eternal Grace (built 2006).

That Imabari Shipbuilding-constructed ship is said to have been sold for only slightly lower, at $13.6m.
