Panamax bulkers are continuing to earn top dollar in the east coast of South America market as heightened grain chartering activity is allowing owners to charge higher rates to ship the commodity.
The average freight rate for the P8 route from Santos, Brazil, to Qingdao, China, has risen 25% since late July to $41.517 per tonne on Wednesday to reach the highest price since early May, according to the Baltic Exchange.
