Pacific Basin has made good on its promise to expand its dry cargo fleet with the acquisition of five bulk carriers.
The Hong Kong-listed company is paying $104.6m for four supramaxes and one handysize, all built in Japan in a cash plus shares swoop.
One of the ships is a newbuilding resale from Tsuneishi and will join Pacific Basin’s fleet in January 2018.
