Germany’s Oldendorff Carriers has inked another five kamsarmax bulker newbuildings at Jiangsu New Hantong Ship Heavy Industry (Jiangsu New Hantong).
The Lubeck-based owner confirmed the additional orders, which were options on an original contract. The move brings the company’s orderbook for 82,000-dwt kamsarmax bulk carriers at the Chinese shipyard to 10 units.
The company is believed to be paying in excess of $30m each for the conventional fuelled bulkers.
