Further design details about NYK Line’s recent Newcastlemax bulker order at Japan Marine United (JMU Corp) have emerged.
The yard confirmed the first order for this new 211,000-dwt J-series type, which builds on its previous Newcastlemax G-series in early July 2019.
The design combines increased deadweight with reduced fuel consumption compared with the pre-ceding G209 BC design, according to Braemar ACM.
