Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has picked Wartsila for the installation of exhaust gas cleaning systems on two newbuildings.
These will be the first ships owned by the Japanese company to be fitted with scrubbers in order to comply with incoming sulphur regulations from the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
The two ships are currently being built at compatriot Oshima Shipbuilding and are due for delivery in 2018 and 2019.
