Norden made the best of volatile markets in 2022 and has posted the best annual profit in its 151-year history.
The firm, which owns and operates bulkers and product tankers, booked an annual result of $743.5m, more than three times the $204.5m it recorded in 2021.
“This was made possible by a decision early in the year to change the entire group exposure across almost 500 operated vessels, from mostly dry cargo at the beginning of the year to mostly product tankers in the second half of the year,” chief executive Jan Rindbo wrote in Norden’s annual report.
