Japanese tonnage supplier Nisshin Shipping has exercised options to order another five kamsarmax bulkers at Jiangsu New Hantong Ship Heavy Industry.
The deal — costing $280m — brings the company's orderbook for the 82,000-dwt vessels at the privately-owned Chinese shipyards to 10.
A shipbuilding source close to the deal said Nisshin held the options at Jiangsu Hantong since it booked its earlier order for five bulkers in April.
