Minerva Marine is the latest Greek shipowner to be linked to a secondhand capesize bulker as prices rapidly rise.
According to brokers in London and the US, the Andreas Martinos-led outfit has agreed to buy the 169,100-dwt Jabal Nafusa (built 2010) from Libya's General National Maritime Transport Co (GNMTC) for between $15m and $15.5m.
Minerva has a policy not to discuss commercial matters and GMTC officials were not available for comment.
