Canadian-Swiss joint venture NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers (NACC) has boosted its capacity by buying into another owner in the niche sector, JT Cement.
It has acquired a 25% stake in the company, which has a fleet of seven smaller specialised pneumatic carriers.
JT is controlled by KGJ Cement Holdings, a unit of Bergen owner Kristian Gerhard Jebsen, and Swedish shipowner Erik Thun.
