Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) is looking to add new capesize tonnage to its fleet after actively reducing its exposure to the dry bulk market over recent years.

The company confirmed it is looking to acquire new ships but stressed the emphasis is on replacement of older vessels rather than growth.

The Tokyo-headquartered shipowner and operator has been trimming its operated and owned capesize fleet from 130 ships to 90 ships over the past 10 years.
