Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines is set to work with Cyprus-based bulker owner SMT Shipping on potential shipments of direct reduced iron (DRI).
The companies have signed an agreement to study the possibilities of cooperating on transporting the steelmaking feedstock.
DRI can be used in electric arc furnaces and blast furnaces.
