China's Lixin Engineering has sealed its first major newbuilding contract.
Clarksons reported the Ningde plant has inked a deal for a 22,500-dwt bulker with domestic owner Fujian Yonghang.
The vessel is due in 2021, but no price was given.
Lixin is listed as only having built one vessel before: an 830-dwt tanker for Hangqi Shipping delivered in 2012.
Fujian Yonghang took delivery of a 20,700-dwt bulker from Fujian Southeast in 2018.
