Torvald Klaveness' digitalisation and decarbonisation spin-offs have clinched a deal with a major charterer to measure emissions in shipping operations.
Klaveness Digital and ZeroLab by Klaveness said the unnamed aluminium shipper wants to quantify the carbon output in its seaborne supply chain.
The two Norwegian companies said cargo owners are increasingly paying attention to supply chain emissions, which are classified as Scope 3 in measurement systems, as opposed to direct emissions in Scope 1 and 2.
