Japan’s K Line has ordered a 210,000-dwt bulker from compatriot shipbuilder Japan Marine United (JMU), the shipowner confirmed Wednesday.

The Newcastlemax, which is due to be completed in fiscal year 2021, has been ordered on the back of a long-term employment from JFE Steel.

After delivery from the yard, the scrubber-fitted vessel will be put into a consecutive voyage as per contract signed with steel maker transporting iron ore and coal.

JMU confirmed confirmed that the vessel would be the latest order for its new 211,000-dwt J-series type, which builds on its previous Newcastlemax G-series in early July 2019.
