Japan’s Doun Kisen has turned to China’s Jiangmen Nanyang Ship Engineering for handysize bulk carrier newbuildings.
According to shipbuilding sources, the low-profile shipowner has ordered up to four 40,000-dwt open-hatch vessels at the Chinese shipyard.
It has signed up for two firm ships plus the option for an additional two.
