Intercargo raises safety concerns in carbon-cutting drive

The short-term decarbonisation measures adopted at the International Maritime Organization this month have been criticised for falling short.

But dry bulk owners association Intercargo has expressed concerns that they may go too far — potentially compromising safety in the case of some vessels.

“We hope that this will not be widespread but we can’t say for sure yet,” chairman Dimitris Fafalios told TradeWinds.
