The Indian navy has arrested 12 pirates following an attempted attack on a new Great Eastern Shipping kamsarmax.
The navy said the raid on the 82,000-dwt Jag Amar (built 2017) was thwarted in the Gulf of Aden on Friday.
The warship INS Trishul also recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition and boarding gear from the pirates' skiff, Indian media said.
Marines boarded the bulker after the incident.
