Vietnam's HTK Shipping & Import Export has bought a Japanese-controlled ultramax bulker as it expands beyond the handysize sector.
Tran Duy Quynh, a senior HTK manager, said it had purchased the 61,400-dwt Lowlands Beacon (built 2011).
However, he added that the Haiphong-based company had not purchased MC Shipping's 61,346-dwt Sailing Sky (built 2014), which shipbrokers had been linking to HTK since late September.
